St Camillus Hospital is 120 beds Regional Level Hospital located at Mwangaza area in the City of Dodoma. The hospital is registered by the Tanzania Private Hospital Advisory Board (PHAB) with registration number 123583-7. The hospital name was derived from the service of Camillus de Lelli a Cathoilic Priest who was beatified by Pope Benedict XIV in 1742 in Rome for his saint service in caring for the sick. St. Camillus Hospital was established as an upgrade to what was initially a Specialized Medical and Dental outpatient clinic “St. Camillus Specialized Medical and Dental Clinic” owned by a joint company registered by BRELA with registration number 113441 on the 1st of December 2014. The idea was inspired by the Tanzanian government decision to officially move all government operations to Dodoma in 2015 which was associated with shifting of government officials and their families to Dodoma and an increased demand in health care services. The establishment of St. Camillus hospital aimed to complement the existing public and private health care facilities in the city of Dodoma to cope with an increasing demand of quality health care services in the city and neighboring regions
